My favorite part of the whole trip was Bryce National Park. This is where I really got hooked on the photography. I absolutely loved the little posing ground squirrel.
We arrived in Moab, Utah Friday evening and set out on Saturday morning to see the cars at the Moab Car show. I think shots of whole cars can be kind of boring, so here are a few little details, and a self portrait as well.
After stopping at Horseshoe Bend Overlook we drove into Page for lunch and went on for a quick look at Glen Canyon Dam, then on through Kayenta into Monument Valley and on past Canyonlands up to Moab.
On Friday we relocated from Sedona to Moab with a detour past Horse shoe bend. We are not great hikers and found the walk quite tough but the view was great. I saw some desert flowers. And I must say that standing on the edge overlooking horshoe bend id the most scared I have been for a long long time. Definitely worth the detour! However we don't recommend hiking it between 12 and 1 in the blazing sun as we did.
On Thursday we took a trip out to meteor crater. I love the visitor's centre with all its cool Science stuff, like being a kid again. The crater is huge, almost too big to get your head around. And pretty hard to take photos of. I saw a cute lizard type animal, any ideas what it is?
On Wednesday we left Grand Canyon and detoured via a little road to the Wupatki National Monument. Then onto take a shot of the Sunset crater Volcano before heading back to Sedona.
The Photosig group stayed one night at Grand Canyon but we stayed on an extra day to go to more points and have more dawns and sunsets. The last day at Moran Point, a lady came across to speak to us having heard our English accents. It tured out she was from the next village along from where Richard's family live in Devon. A small world indeed! Heres are some of my photos from Grand Canyon.
